The 15-line Quran is the Indo-Pak script mushaf used by most hifz students in Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, South Africa and the UK. Each page has 15 lines, and in the standard "hafizi" layout most pages end at the end of a verse, which helps memorizers. Below are free PDF editions from legitimate sources, along with 13-line, 16-line and Madani (Uthmani script) mushafs.
Which mushaf should I use?
- 15-line Indo-Pak: the usual choice for hifz in South Asian traditions; script matches Noorani Qaida.
- 13-line and 16-line Indo-Pak: larger or more compact print of the same script; popular for reading.
- Madani mushaf (Uthmani script): printed by the King Fahd Complex in Madinah, 604 pages, used widely in Arab countries and many Western masjids.
Tips for memorizers
- Choose one edition and use only that one, so your visual memory of each page stays stable.
- Print or buy a physical copy for daily use and keep the PDF for travel.
- Mark mistakes in pencil so you can revise them.
